AOCC REGIONAL COMPETITION RULES

PURPOSE:  Provide competition and encourage participation among Arizona Outlaws Contest Club members.

ELIGIBILITY:  Participation is limited to AOCC members in good standing at the start time of the contest.

COMPETITION:  Competition is between the three Arizona Regions of the AOCC, plus “Out of Arizona members” included as a 4th Region.

GENERAL RULES:

1.  The AOCC Board of Directors shall announce in advance, on the AOCC Reflector, the upcoming contests that will be eligible for Regional competition. The inaugural contests used for the Regional Competition shall be the three summer 2010 North American QSO Parties (CW, SSB, and RTTY).

• NAQP RTTY – July 17-18, 2010
• NAQP CW – August 7-8, 2010
• NAQP SSB – August 21-22, 2010

2.  All stations compete on an equal basis.  There are no categories:

             e.g. Single Op, Multi-Single, and Multi-Multi scores are treated equally.

3.  In order to be considered, a score must be posted on the AOCC Reflector within 7 days of the conclusion of the event.

4. Membership differences between the Regions will be normalized, so that the Regions with more club members do not have an advantage.  A Region’s final “score” will be the sum of its individual scores divided by the total number of AOCC members within that Region, as of the start of the announced Regional Competition contest. Thus, greater participation by members in an area will enhance a Region’s score, while lesser participation will detract from a Region’s score.

5.  The sum of the three NAQP (or other announced contests) scores of each Region will determine the highest scoring Region.

6.  A separate award shall be given to the highest score in each Region by a participant who has never previously submitted a contest log for that contest.  “First time log submission” must be noted in their post to the AOCC Reflector.

7.  At the end of the calendar year, the AOCC Board of Directors will award the AOCC “Region of the Year”.  This award shall be based on the highest number of wins of the Regional contest competitions. 

DISPUTES AND INTERPRETATIONS:

1.  The AOCC Board of Directors shall have final authority in settling of any disputes.

2. The AOCC Board of Directors shall publish the final results within 30 days of the end of the contest.  These results will be posted on the AOCC Reflector.
